About this Event
Come for a game of open curling, beer, food, and socializing. We have five sheets of ice available for one session of ice time (1.5hrs) for pick-up games, skills and drills, 'shorties', contests, and whatever else we can think of. Mix and match as you like! Teams and sheets will be assigned on the fly at the event. Make a note of your team or teammates and which activity you would prefer to do in the checkout notes.
NOTE: this year since we only have 1.5hrs of ice time vs 3hrs in previous years, we'll be starting a little earlier at 5pm and our schedule will roughly be:
5-5:30pm - Room setup & start pre-staging equipment
5:30-6:10pm - Light food & raffle
6:10-6:30/40pm - Ice setup
6:30/40-7:30pm - Curling, 4-end games
7:30-8:15pm - Longest slide & draw to button contests
8:15-8:30pm - Strike the ice & stow equipment
8:30-10pm - More food, awards, & raffles
This event is OPEN to Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club members, members of other clubs, and anyone who has taken a Try Curling/Learn to Curl class.
There will be ongoing broomstacking with food, snacks, beer and water. BONUS ROUND: we'll be having an exciting RAFFLE with all sort of fun prizes including curling equipment donated by Broomfitters.com! Tickets to the raffle will be sold on-site.
Bring your non-curling friends & family to watch the action and join the party! Spectator tickets are for those RSVP'ing for the food, beer, party & raffle only.
Your ticket is good for one (1) player slot, for one 1.5 hour session. All player slots are first come first served, so if you want to make sure your whole team is signed up, the surest way to do this is to have all your teammates purchase their tickets at the same time. Our events often sell out in a matter of days.

TIME: Please plan to show up at 5:00pm to account for any traffic, parking or subway delays and so we have time to enjoy some light food, do the raffle, organize teams, complete any waiver paperwork and get out on the ice on time at 6:40!
LOCATION: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park, 171 East Dr, Brooklyn NY 11225. Take the Q train to Parkside Av. or otherwise find your way to the Parkside and Ocean Avenue entrance to Prospect Park, enter the park and walk up the hill.
WEATHER OR FACILITY CANCELLATION: Because the Lakeside rink is only partially covered, we occasionally must cancel due to extreme weather conditions. If there is a weather cancellation, BLCC will make its best effort to reschedule a cancelled event. BLCC may refund cancelled single night events at its discretion, but will not issue refunds for any league dates cancelled due to weather.
