About this Event
What if life is just a dream? Would we be amazed at our own existence? Would we discover there is no master narrative, no single version of ourselves, but many? Would we be the dreamers and the nightmares? To capture these questions, the choreography adopts the structure of a triptych, which is more commonly in painting, especially in altarpieces. Each section is a complete, structural unit but together they tell a story.
“If ballets are the “operas” of the dance world, then German-Canadian choreographer and dancer Angela Blumberg’s choreographies are fine chamber works. While ballets use vibrant sets to lock in a narrative and tell a story, Blumberg’s dance pieces inhabit a realm of poised abstraction, using minimal props and sets.”
