You can basically think of this as an open mic night, but without the limitation that what’s shared have anything to do with microphones. Very, very open ended!Many of us have gifts that are undershared, and finding outlets for our expression can be hard sometimes. But sharing and seeing others sharing their gifts, passions, or even just explorations is a beautiful thing.
There are singers, dancers, musicians, comics, poets, jugglers, artists, and acrobats among you, but these are not the only gifts welcome here... Gifts shared could be nothing more than a few words about something you’re passionate about, a link to a playlist you curated, a powerpoint on the diet that changed your life and must be evangelized immediately, or banana bread! We really can't overstate the open-endedness of this event, so have some fun, and don’t take it too seriously ☺️
All that we ask of those that want to share a gift is that:
a) Keep it under 8 minutes (so we have time for many of us to share)
and b) Keep it reasonably appropriate for whatever age of audience come (kids are welcome)
We’re super excited to have local artist and photographer Drew Bandy joining us for this Gift Exchange! He will be capturing moments from our event, and performers will have access to photos of their performance shortly after the event. You are welcome to do with them as you want, as long as they credit Drew as the photographer :P Anyone attending that prefers not to be shown in photos can be blurred out upon request.
The cost of this event is $10, and you can reserve your spot through the link below. If you’d like to share something at the event, there is a place at checkout to specify what you'd like to do! And of course there’s no requirement to share something to come—much of the “gift” in this exchange is simply the witnessing and celebrating of each other.
