The Geology of Iceland: Land of Fire and Ice

Retired career geologist Mindi Snoparsky-Lammendola will show maps and photos to illustrate and explain Iceland's unique geology. What makes it so speical? Iceland is where North America and Europe meet and its rocks, volcanoes, waterfalls, and glaciers tell its story. It is no exaggeration to say that Iceland is like no other country on Earth. Only a five hour flight from Philadelphia, few people are aware of Iceland's stunning landscapes, geological wonders, and impact on global history.
