Step into a sweeping musical encounter where Mame Khan, the global icon of Rajasthani folk, joins forces with soprano Natalie Di Luccio.
Experience the fascinating union of two powerhouse voices—distinct in texture, yet united in strength, in a groundbreaking musical collaboration that brings together Mame Khan’s iconic Rajasthani folk repertoire and his Folk Orchestra of Rajasthan with the elegance of Italian opera, performed by acclaimed vocalist Natalie Di Luccio.
Mame Khan, the signature voice of Rajasthan’s Manganiyar community, has spent decades sharing its folk heritage globally. He leads the Folk Orchestra of Rajasthan—the world’s first ensemble dedicated solely to one region’s folk music. Structured like a classical orchestra but using only traditional Rajasthani instruments and musicians, it transforms ancient melodies into an emotionally rich arrangements that highlight the depth of the region’s traditions.
Natalie Di Luccio, a classically trained soprano, bridges Western opera and Indian music. With experience alongside Italian producers linked to Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, alongside Indian legends like A. R. Rahman and Sonu Nigam, her voice seamlessly shifts between operatic grandeur and contemporary global styles.
Featuring over 30 of Rajasthan’s finest folk musicians, the performance weaves through folk, devotional, and contemporary pieces, where timeless desert melodies meet operatic splendour, allowing centuries-old traditions to find bold, fresh expression on the grand stage.
