About this Event
The Washington International Young Artists Music Series (WIYAMS), meticulously organized by the International Art Development and Promotion Association (IADPA), is dedicated to creating a global platform for exceptionally talented musicians. Our mission is to foster meaningful connections between audiences and young artists while revitalizing the classical music concert experience through innovation and fresh interpretations.
This concert is a journey through the sweeping landscapes of Romanticism, tracing its evolution and enduring influence on music. "Evolution" unveils the transformation of musical expression, beginning with Beethoven, whose works serve as a bridge between Classical and Romantic periods. Schumann’s music embodies the poetic lyricism of early Romanticism, while Brahms captures its profound depth and complexity. Bartók’s music illustrates how Romantic ideals continued to resonate into the modern era. "Impact" is revealed through Romanticism’s boundless reach—its imprint on piano, vocal, and chamber music, and its influence across cultures, from Austria and Germany to Hungary and beyond. The concert celebrates the lasting legacy of the Romantic period, illuminating its role in shaping generations of composers to follow. This performance features distinguished artists from institutions across the United States, including Yale University, Manhattan School of Music, Arizona State University, Johns Hopkins University, West Virginia University, the Catholic University of America, the University of South Carolina, and Michigan State University.
