Overwhelmed by philosophical thoughts and a conviction that nothing in the world makes any difference to him the Ridiculous Man sets the scene for his suicide. One fatal night a little girl who begs him for help causes him to hesitate and he sinks into a life-changing dream.
It’s a highly emotional roller-coaster with tragi-comic twists and turns. Dostoevsky’s profound story has been performed by a number of outstanding actors, including Jeremy Irons. Tom Larkin puts his personal stamp on it and delivers a tour de force. Set in our contemporary world The Ridiculous Man brings a powerful message of hope, love and the potential for transformation.
This is a unique one-off performance, back due to popular demand, of Dostoevsky's profound short story performed in the grounds of The Castle Climbing Centre in Manor House, N4 2HA. As the Castles’ gates close off to the public prepare to be transported to another world!
