About this Event
"The Designer Is Dead" (86m runtime) from Brooklyn-based director, Gonzalo Hergueta is a documentary about fashion designer Miguel Adrover, his sudden rise to fame and his current artistic life in Mallorca. The screening will be followed by a discussion with director Gonzalo Hergueta and Vogue Spain collaborator and creative director Montse Tanús on the Patio. Light refreshments provided.
Quote from Gonzalo Hergueta about the project: “Five years ago, I discovered Miguel Adrover, a radically uncompromising fashion designer who briefly became one of the most important voices in early-2000s New York before disappearing from public life. His sudden return to Mallorca and near-erasure from fashion history compelled me to search for one of Spain’s most singular creative talents. The Designer Is Dead contrasts Miguel’s quiet present with his explosive past, reflecting on fame, disappearance, and the cost of artistic integrity.”
