About this Event
A 50 minute real time projected drawing and live performance show - comedy, natural history, personal and political discovery. Beaver facts, beaver philosophy and beaver politics - to guide us humans not to let the beaver down, a second time.
Beavers became extinct 400 years ago in the UK because of the violence and greed of their human neighbours.
Today they are slowly being reintroduced, by humans again, to help the ecosystem as it struggles with climate change and eco disasters.
Beavers are keystone animals - their very way of life helps others, unintentionally, they create their world and in doing so build healthy worlds for other animals including humans.
The show is a mix between stand up, storytelling, art making in real time, with voiceover, music and sound effects. It’s a unique, mesmerising and uplifting experience.
This show is accompanied by a beaver lodge installation in the gallery within the Keystone Species exhibition at Proposition Bethnal Green. In the lodge, there are drawings and paintings of beaver life and thought. Buy original work at beaver prices.
Let's learn how to become keystone creatures ourselves.
