About this Event
For one night only, gather under the glow of the moon and stars at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) to discover the legendary Moon Palace, enjoy Islamic heritage stories on stewardship, and reflect on the blessings of Ramadan.
This event is hosted by QMUL and London Moonsighters and will include talks from both organisations, and the opportunity to hop on-board Moon Palace. Light snacks & nibbles will be provided.
London Moonsighters are part of Moonsighters Academy, bringing astronomy and faith together to transform observance of the Islamic calendar.

Moon Palace is a stunning artwork and mobile observatory, formerly a school bus. Commissioned by East Leeds Project and created by artists Heather Peak and Ivan Morison, Moon Palace is a space for conversations on everything from the world around us to the vastness of our Universe and our impacts on a changing planet – all over a cup of Cosmic Tea! She is also a working observatory with onboard equipment including a powerful optical telescope for after-dark stargazing and a rooftop radio telescope.
