Made by Emblem is hosting a drop-in life drawing session on the last Wednesday of each month!
Come join Erik Mohr (Creative Director) for a relaxed evening filled with mark-making. Sessions are welcome to all levels, and attendees should provide their own materials.
Cost
$20 preferred fee.$10 student / financial assistance fee. Limited quantities. Secure your spot by purchasing a ticket ahead of time. We can accommodate 20 people.
What to expect
This is an informal drawing group. We'll have some music playing and a few snacks for the break. We start with some quick gestures (short 30-second poses, 1-minute & 2-minute poses), then move into longer poses. Generally, the longer poses are around 15-20 mins. We take two short breaks and one longer break halfway through the session. There will be a different nude model for each session. We ask that people be respectful of the model. For anyone unfamiliar with life drawing etiquette, please reach out and ask questions!
What to bring
Materials are not provided, so we encourage everyone to bring whatever supplies they are comfortable with. No wet media (paint or ink pots).
The Deserres across the street is open until 7pm on Wednesdays. Grab your supplies on your way!
Approved material
- paper/sketchbook/newsprint pad, etc.
- drawing board/sketch clipboard/any drawing surface
- graphite pencils, erasers, coloured pencils, conté, charcoal, etc.
Finding our studio
We are on the third floor at the Southeast end of the building. It can be a bit of a maze. So give yourself enough time to find us! We'll have signs to lead the way. Please show up a little early to set up.
