About this Event
The Community Walk: Union to the Stadium takes place on Sunday, May 31, from 12:00 PM to approximately 2:00 PM and is a vibrant, community-led cultural procession bringing together music, movement, and Toronto’s diverse creative spirit during the global football summer.
Beginning at Union Station and moving toward the stadium grounds, the walk will feature live brass bands, percussion, artists, dancers, and community organizations activating the city streets through sound, celebration, and connection. The initiative aims to create a welcoming, people-powered experience that highlights Toronto’s neighbourhood culture, supports local artists, and encourages visitors and residents to engage with the city beyond the core event zones.
Led by community cultural organizers including Rudy Ray & Co. and collaborators across Toronto’s arts ecosystem, the initiative aims to create an inclusive and welcoming experience that connects visitors and residents to the city through music, culture, and public space activation.
“This is about creating a people-first experience that reflects the heartbeat of Toronto,” said Rudy Ray Kwaku. “We want audiences to feel the energy of the city through its artists, communities, and collective movement.”
The activation also aligns with broader city-building goals around walkability, public animation, local economic activity, and showcasing Toronto as a world-class cultural destination.
Additional details regarding programming partners, performance groups, route information, and public participation opportunities will be announced in the coming weeks.
