Welcome to Young LIT Stars 2nd annual Children's Black Book Fair UK supported by the amazing Hackney Libriaries and Hackney Council.
Join us as we takeover Hackney Central Library for a fun filled afternoon amplifying the voices of writers of Black children's books.
The Book Fair will be opened by publishing legend and pioneer, 95 year old Eric Huntley who will be interviewed by Hackney's award-winning author of 9 books, 17 year old Romeo Bremmer and the event will host the 2025 London Spelling Bee Championship finals.
Meet 20 young Black published authors under 16 and a collection of writers of Black children's books taking part in our Storytelling Marathon.

The first 100 children will receive a marvelous goodie bag and every child attending will be part of a free draw and could take home a collection of books worth £100.
We will also be raffling a £1,000 Book Mountain with proceeds going to our 2025 adopted charity the MAA MAAT Cultural Centre.

Meet Publishing Legend, 95 year old Eric Huntley who will be opening The Children's Black Book Fair 2025 and sharing his publishing journey.
His late wife Jessica was joint director of the International Book Fair of Radical and Third World Books which was held annually between 1982 and 1995.
