About this Event
St Edmundsbury Cathedral Choir of boys, girls and adults presents a celebratory concert to mark the end of the choir’s year. This will also be Director of Music Timothy Parsons’s final concert with the Cathedral Choir before Claudia Grinnell’s arrival in September. The choir will present a programme of some of the music that the choir has particularly enjoyed performing across the last few years, including music that has recently been recorded on the choir’s new CD, A Year at St Edmundsbury. Copies of this brand new CD will be available to purchase after the concert, and includes music by contemporary composers Paul Trepte, James MacMillan, Ghislaine Reece-Trapp, Sally Beamish, Mark Blatchly and Sarah MacDonald as well as familiar pieces by Bairstow, Stanford, Howells and Robert Parsons. Come and enjoy a summertime musical celebration to mark the end of another busy year of music at St Edmundsbury Cathedral!
The Doors will open from 5.00 pm, please have your tickets ready for scanning.
A bar will be open before the concert, run by The Friends of The Cathedral Choirs (FOCC). All proceeds go towards the FOCC, so please arrive early enough to support them!
