Rhiannon Faith Company and Harlow Playhouse are thrilled to announce the Care Weekender 2024 - a weekend of free family-friendly arts and creative activities celebrating care and community.
The Care Weekender will run on Friday 2nd August (2 - 7pm) Saturday 3rd August (12 - 5pm) and Sunday 4th August (12 - 5pm) outside the Harlow Playhouse in Playhouse Square CM20 1LS.
The Care Weekender will include family-friendly activities and craft workshops a free community lunch table from Community Embrace creative workshops from Hip Hop Pop Dance Generation Circus and the Velo Artists performances from Harlow Ukulele Band Voices of Harlow Choir and Matipo Arts and many more acts still to be announced! This year there is a new Self Care quiet zone where MIND West Essex will be running wellbeing activities and Luna Emporium will be offering guided meditations.
The highlight of the event will be a new dance film Harlow Cares created by Rhiannon Faith Company and Big Egg Films in collaboration with local Harlow residents. The film is a joyful reminder of all the wonderful acts of care we experience in our community. The film will be played daily on the big screen brought in specially for the Weekender.
The Care Weekender will also feature the premiere of a brand new outdoor performance The Care We See created and choreographed by Rhiannon Faith with a company of world class dancers. This new work will push the boundaries of dance theatre and spread the positive message of wellbeing and community care.
