Bruce A. Henry is one of Chicago’s finest vocalists, known for his genre-defying style and remarkable three-and-a-half octave range. A native of Mississippi and raised on Chicago’s West Side, he blends gospel roots with jazz, soul, and classical training from the Chicago Conservatory of Music, and has been a beloved artist in Minnesota for many years. Henry has performed on five continents and collaborated with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, The Sounds of Blackness, and Doc Severinsen. His voice has been featured on BBC broadcasts, as well as Disney and HBO soundtracks. In addition to performing, he is the founder of Evolution of African American Music, Inc. (EVAAM), where he presents concerts, lectures, and educational programs exploring 400 years of Black music.
"His range is extraordinary, and his on-stage presentation is at once commanding and full of charm. He is a talent of the first order who should appeal to diverse audiences throughout the world." Stephen L. Salyer, President American Public Radio
