The Bi's do Pride Parade: March with Us!

Sat Nov 29 2025 at 04:00 pm to 09:30 pm UTC+08:00

Bar Love, 195 Brisbane Street, Perth | Perth

The Bi's do Pride Parade: March with Us! Join us in marching with Bi+ Community Perth at this year's Pride Parade! All multi-gender attracted folk plus their friends and allies are welcome to join us!
The parade theme this year is 'We are Here' and is a celebration of the historic activism for us to have the rights we do today, and emphasizes that we have always existed and we will unapologetically fight for visibility and resilience of our LGBTIQA+ community. Our Bi+ Community Perth group's theme this year is all about individual self-expression, so this is the place to be visible and express yourself exactly the way you want to. Join us to let everyone know we aren't invisible, the Bi's are here! 👀
Come dressed in your finest, fiercest bi+ gear that is most authentically you, however you want to express your beautiful bi+ self! We love to see the bi and pan colours! Just make sure you avoid feathers and biodegradable glitter is preferred. If you have something you want to express in words, you can make and bring along individual signs up to A3 size or wear slogans on your t-shirts.
Want to get involved?
We will meet up at Bar Love between 4.00pm and 6:30pm so you can:
* get your parade entry wristband (we have 60 available in total)
* get your face and/or body professionally painted for free to really shine during the parade.
* eat, drink (responsibly) and hang out with other bi+ folks and soak up the pre-pride vibes!
What's next?
At 6.30pm we'll move from Bar Love to Russell Square for marshalling (we're at Zone D#66 on Aberdeen Street or Palmerston Street). You will need a wristband for entry, so make sure you already have yours before 6:30pm! If you know you'll be late or can't meet us at Bar Love before 6:30, you'll need to message us to arrange another way for us to get the wristband to you.
Marshalling:
Make sure you are at the form up area for our spot in the parade by 7:00pm at the latest with your wristband on. Russell Square opens from 6pm with food trucks, entertainment and a bar if you already have your wristband and want to get there earlier. While we are waiting to march, we'll socialise and you can decide whether you want to:
* help us carry our huge 15m(!) flag, or
* join in our upbeat choregraphed dance (if you wish!). We'll do a few optional run-throughs of the choreography while we are marshalling. We'll also post a video of the choreography so you can learn it ahead of time too if you want to, or just wing it!
During the parade:
The parade starts with a smoking ceremony at 7:45pm, and the actual march from 8pm. Closest toilets, food and drinks will be inside Russell Square, but we'd appreciate you staying with the group as much as you can from 7pm onwards.
Once our group starts moving after 8pm, we'll march, blow kisses, smile, high five, and wave your hand flag or glow stick (provided by us).
Then all you need to do is soak up the cheers from the spectators during our slow walk (or dance) from Aberdeen Street, along William Street, back along James street to return to Russell Square (total 1.3km). You'll be one of up to 6,000 participants in the parade, so it's a vibe!
What about after the parade?
Russell Square will be open to the public from 9:30pm or pick an after-party event you want to go to (there are many!), or Bar Love will kick on as a home for the Bi+ Community after the Parade with our co-promoted event Curious - for those who are bi+ or new to the queer community.
Please note: This year does have much stricter guidelines for signage and behaviour that are conditions of entry as a participant in the parade which may be enforced by Pride WA, so if you're unsure if what you're thinking will be appropriate then just ask and we'll be able to help give some guidance. Participants also need to ensure they are not intoxicated (until after the parade at least). Any messages we individually choose to display need to be positive, supportive and relevant to our LGBTQIA+ identity, and ensure it is non-discriminatory and non-threatening. While acknowledging historical tensions with some groups or institutions we need to ensure we are respectful to all other groups and participants at the parade. There is zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, agism or any form or discrimination, so any messaging should only uplift any intersectional minorities.
We at Bi+ Community Perth would never want to limit how people might want to express themselves, but everyone is subject to Pride WA's Terms and Conditions and Code of Respect if they want to participate in the parade. If you want to express yourself in a way that doesn't fit within those rules it might be better to do that from the other side of the parade fence where these rules don't apply so you don't risk it negatively affecting your night by the possibility of ejection. We want everyone to have a great time! On the day, all communication between our group and Pride WA officials will go through our responsible person, Saoirse Fels. After a great deal of consultation with Pride WA since last year's parade we have been assured that Police will not be used to interface with marchers about pride rules unless it is a case of ignoring reasonable instructions or to maintain public safety such as illegal activity (such as consumption of drugs or alcohol), harassment, aggression or threatening behaviour.
