For 7.5 years I have had the pleasure of sharing an apartment at 59 St. Marks Place with my good friend Carl Majeau. But before we become common law married I have finally made the decision to leave this storied apartment and move across town to lay my head in Soho. In the mold of Fuck Winter Parties of the past, Carl and I will be throwing one final soiree before we part ways. We have chosen this auspicious date for several reasons:
1) To celebrate my loyal dog Benito and his namesake, Mexican liberator and statesman Benito Juarez. The two legends share March 21st as their birthday.
2) To herald the end of one of the coldest and harshest winters in NYC history. The purpose of a Fuck Winter Party is to get us through the final weeks of misery and turn our focus to the beauty and opportunity that Spring, Summer and Fall have in store for us.
3) To commemorate the end of an era at 59 St Marks Place. While Carl will be staying here (likely indefinitely), before I leave nothing would make me happier than to gather at our abode one last time to be with friends and enjoy the musical talents that so many of these friends possess.
Schedule
6:00 PM : Guests are welcome
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM: Backyard cocktails and drinking games
8:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Band Performance (Carl Majeau, Chadbourne Oliver and various musical guests)
10:30 PM - Late: DJ Set (GES)
Notes
1) The party will be in Apartment B. Please call or text someone inside to let you in rather than buzzing otherwise the dog will be barking all night.
2) There is no formal theme, but as is tradition tropical attire is encouraged
3) A variety of alcohol will be provided, but any additional contributions are very much appreciated
4) Feel free to invite/forward this invitation to as many friends as you wish (within reason please)
