Chicago-born Bear Williams (Larry Kimpel) is an acclaimed bassist, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose career spans jazz, R&B, gospel, and beyond – but whose deepest passion lies in the blues and folk traditions.
A Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree, Bear has collaborated with legendary artists such as The Staple Singers and Anita Baker. He also served as bassist and musical director for Maze featuring Frankie Beverly for over two decades. With his trio, Bear delivers a rich blend of soulful storytelling, masterful musicianship, and heartfelt blues that captivates audiences everywhere. Following the performance, guests are invited to enjoy a meet & greet with Bear and the Trio.
