THE BEAR is an open stage for autobiographical storytelling.

Eight storytellers will be randomly chosen by drawing names from a hat. Each has 5–7 minutes to share a true, personal story from their own life — told live, without notes.

You’ll hear stories in both English and German.
Four stories in the first half, a short break, then four more in the second.

At the end of the evening, the audience will be invited to share which story moved them most.

After 90+ shows and over 1,000 stories across Germany, THE BEAR continues to bring together locals, expats, and internationals for two unforgettable hours.

This edition is hosted in English.

The stories themselves will be a mix of English and German (approximately 50/50).

You don’t need to understand every word to feel a story — emotion travels beyond language.

Whether you're new to Hamburg or have lived here your whole life — every voice and every language is welcome.
