Olive Ann Beech was the steady strategist and financial mind who helped build Beech Aircraft—and after Walter’s sudden death, led the company for more than 30 years. Under her leadership, Beech Aircraft became a powerhouse of American aviation, producing aircraft that trained more than 40,000 navigators, gunners, bombardiers, and pilots during World War II and helping transform Wichita into the Aircraft Capital of the World.
