On December 13, the Austin Children’s Choir will give the world premiere of “Simon’s Song” by Nicolás Jiménez, a deeply moving piece that tells the story of Simon losing his skills and serves as a profound tribute to Simon Croke, a young boy from Austin battling Sanfilippo Syndrome, a rare neurodegenerative disease that gradually takes away children’s physical and mental abilities, capturing through its lyrics and melody the pain, bravery, and enduring love within that journey while offering both a memorial and a message of hope, calling us to remember him, support the search for a cure, uplift his family and others like them, and celebrate this especially meaningful moment as Simon himself will be in the audience, with more information and ways to help available at Help Simon / Cure Sanfilippo Foundation:
