Dialogue can make or break a script. This event will teach writers how to transform their script by writing dialogue that’s sharp, witty, and natural.
Key learning outcome:
- Teach the fundamentals of screenwriting, including formatting, structure, and pacing.
- Learn how to find moments of comedy and drama in dialogue, articulate the stakes, and amplify it.
- Learn techniques on how to make their dialogue sound fluid, so the writing lands both on page and on-screen.
- Overcome writer’s block
About the Instructor:

Candace Mitchell is an award-winning writer and producer with a diverse background in long form andshort form scriptwriting. She has worked with networks, platforms, and agencies including Netflix, Comedy Central, HBO Max, and Funny or Die, and more. Her writing has also placed in several competitions, including winning Best Screenplay Award at the 2023 Essence Film Festival. Candace hopes to create a space that encourages others to hone their craft and become the best creative version of themselves.
