About this Event
Join us for a fireside chat and Q&A with Nomi Bar-Yaacov, an award-winning international human rights lawyer, peace negotiator, arbitrator and mediator, working internationally and with a focus on the Middle East. Nomi will talk to us about challenges faced by contemporary negotiation and mediation efforts globally and in the Middle East, and share insights from her international career to date. Please note this event is strictly convened under the Chatham House Rule.
The fireside chat will be followed by informal networking with the WIIS UK Leadership Team and our members. This event is open to all women and allies working in and studying international security & Defence.

Nomi Bar-Yaacov is an international negotiator, arbitrator and mediator, and a convenor of back-channel negotiations, principally in the Middle East. She has been the lead commentator on events in the Middle East for a number of leading media outlets. Nomi is a former speechwriter and a former Associate-Spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, Boutros Boutros Ghali, and a former political adviser in the Executive Office of the UN Secretary General, where she covered the Security Council. She is the former Director of the Middle East and Conflict Management programmes at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
