Slow down, see deeper, and transform everyday moments into powerful visual stories using psychology.
About this Event

Join OM SYSTEM Photographer Maher Zi Ismail for a guided photowalk through some of New York City’s most iconic parks: Washington Square Park, Union Square, or Madison Square Park. This session is designed to help you slow down, notice more, and create stronger, more intentional street photographs.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Prime your brain to see visual patterns more clearly.
  • Manipulate exposure to trick the eye and convey kinetic motion within a still frame.
  • Explore respectful ways to approach strangers for street portraits.
  • Use visual psychology to communicate a deeper story through your photos.

Session Schedule

To keep the experience hands-on and ensure access to OM SYSTEM loaner gear, the photowalk is offered in multiple small-group sessions throughout the day. Please select one session when registering.

Meeting Point for All Sessions: Adorama Event Space

Photowalk Sessions
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
  • 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM

Each session includes a short briefing, a guided photowalk, and a return to the starting point for wrap-up and gear return. Capacity is limited to maintain a focused, hands-on experience.

How the Session Works

Arrival & Briefing — Adorama Event Space
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your selected session. We’ll begin with a short introduction, review key concepts, and distribute loaner gear.

If you plan to borrow gear, please bring a valid state-issued ID and a valid credit card.

Guided Photowalk (1 Hour)
Head out as a small group for a guided photowalk through nearby parks. You’ll practice observing people and movement, using shutter speed to capture motion, and creating more intentional street photographs.

We strongly encourage you to bring your own memory card if you would like to keep your photos.

Return & Wrap-Up — Adorama Event Space
We’ll return to the store for a short wrap-up, key takeaways, and gear return.

Rain Date

In case of inclement weather, the rain date is scheduled for May 12, 2026. Registered participants will be notified via email in advance of any changes.

Please Note: This is a don't-miss in-person event only.
