How do we respond to pain (in ourselves, in others)?
How do we relate to a moment of suffering, when supporting a friend, or in the midst of a conflict?
When someone is hurting or in a process, our first response is usually to offer comfort or advice. We want to fix, solve, heal, soothe. But our reactive impulse often does not help and can sometimes even be counterproductive. We have all been on both sides of this equation and know the frustration and helplessness it can evoke.
In conflict situations, when you are in an argument or triggered, Empathic Listening is often the one missing ingredient that can bring both parties to a more heartfelt place of connection and resolution.

Drawing from the work of Carl Rogers (humanistic psychology), Marshall Rosenberg (Non-Violent Communication) and Tara Brach (Radical Acceptance) - this workshop will inquire into our habitual reactions to pain and begin opening space to practice a more empathic form of responding and communicating.
Whether you are a practitioner of therapy or healing, looking to navigate personal or professional conflicts with greater skill and ease, or simply someone who wants to deepen the quality of connections in your life, you are welcome to join us in exploring this theme.
(No prior experience is necessary -- we are all in a process of de-conditioning our inherited cultural assumptions and behaviours.
You are also welcome to join if you are interested in simply practicing skills you have already developed)
Workshop will be held in English
Exercises can be done in English or German.
