Block Printing with Social Impact Workshop – Amsterdam
Join us for a hands-on 2-hour block printing workshop that blends creativity, culture, and social impact. This hands-on event will take place at EDGE Stadium (Office Building with Miro sign on the front), located at Fred. Roeskestraat 100 in the vibrant city of Amsterdam, hosted by , a social enterprise with a mission to create employment for women from disadvantaged communities.
Attendees will enjoy:
- A handmade textile of your choice to print on; choose from a tea towel, tote bag, or cushion cover, each lovingly crafted by our artisan partners in India
- A brief introduction to Shakti.ism’s mission and social impact, supporting and empowering women artisans across South Asia and further across the Global South
- A deep-dive into the history and technique of block printing, one of the world’s oldest and most beautiful textile traditions
- A chance to experiment with our vast collection of handmade blocks, play with eco-friendly inks, and create your own unique designs
- Delicious chai and a snack to fuel your creativity
- A warm, creative, community atmosphere – and a meaningful handmade piece to take home or gift
