The Art of Being in Nature: Forest Bathing with Nev Hoffman
Forest bathing (also known as Shinrin-Yoku, Nature Therapy or Nature Immersion), invites participants to immerse in nature and experience Bedrock Gardens as both landscape and living art. Each session offers a gentle nature immersion walk led by Certified Guide Geneve “Nev” Hoffman of Blue Fern Forest Bathing. Through mindful invitations, quiet reflection, and tea in the garden, participants explore The Art of Being in Nature — a practice of noticing, connecting, and restoring balance with the natural world.
During this 2-hour program, you will be you will be led on an in-depth, immersive walk through quiet portions of the gardens. In total, the walk will be under one mile, with intermittent sitting. Four sessions are being offered in 2026
The Art of Beginning, Sunday May 17, 2026
As the gardens awaken in spring, this session explores renewal and fresh perspective. Participants will be guided through simple sensory practices that foster awareness of nature’s new beginnings and our own.
The Art of Wonder for Kids + Families, Friday June 26, 2026
A playful introduction to forest bathing for children ages 6–11 and their caregivers. Through guided sensory games and creative exploration, families will experience the gardens with curiosity and imagination — rediscovering the simple art of wonder.
The Art of Stillness, July 31, 2026
In summer’s fullness, the gardens invite us to slow down and rest. This session focuses on the calming power of stillness and presence, encouraging participants to experience the landscape as a space for quiet restoration.
The Art of Letting Go, September 4, 2026
As the season turns, this reflective walk explores change and release. Surrounded by the shifting colors and textures of autumn, participants practice the gentle art of letting go through mindful movement and observation.Four sessions are being offered in 2026: 3 for adults/teens and 1 for families.
About the Teacher
After 25 years as a full-time photographer, Nev Hoffman had a series of transformative life experiences during the pandemic that brought her to the Japanese practice of “Shinrin Yoku,” or Forest Bathing. She pursued her training and certification through the Forest Therapy School and launched Blue Fern Forest Bathing so she could share this meditative outdoor wellness practice and all its health benefits with the world.
Tickets
Tickets are $30 for members (with member discount code) and $40 for the public which includes a full day pass to Bedrock Gardens. Class is limited to 20 people, adults only (except June 26).
Cancellation Policy: If you are unable to attend, please let us know 48 hours in advance of the class start time in order to receive a refund. Note that Eventbrite Fees are non-refundable.
Weather Related Cancellations: We will assess the weather the morning of the workshop and send a notification to all attendees if extreme or severe weather is forecast.
