About this Event
Don’t stay home – join us for The Alternative Covid Inquiry. Six years since the world shut down, we’re still examining what happened and why. As the official Covid Inquiry finally comes to end, our panel will ask the questions the experts didn’t – or wouldn’t. Did lockdowns work, and were they ever justified? Was the government’s response lawful and did the scientists get anything right? And how did we manage to turn a short-term public health disaster into a long-term social, economic and democratic crisis?
The Spectator’s commissioning editor Lara Brown will be joined by science writer and journalist Matt Ridley; Sunetra Gupta, Professor of Theoretical Epidemiology at the University of Oxford; Jonathan Sumption, writer and former Supreme Court Justice; Christopher Snowdon, IEA journalist and Tom Whipple, science writer and special correspondent at The Times.
