About this Event
Join us for the Alice Barber Lecture and Inaugural Mental Health Month Symposium
Presented in collaboration between the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne, this event offers a unique opportunity to engage with leading experts in the fields of psychology and psychiatry.
The event begins with the Mental Health Month Symposium, featuring four short talks from distinguished researchers exploring current topics in mental health. This symposium coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month, underscoring the importance of fostering dialogue and highlighting recent developments in the areas of psychology and psychiatry.
Following the symposium, we are honored to host the Annual Alice Barber Lecture, named in memory of Dr. Alice Barber, a pioneering figure in psychotherapy and a medical graduate of the University of Melbourne (1906). This year's keynote will be delivered by Professor Tim Dalgleish from the University of Cambridge, an internationally renowned expert in clinical psychology and emotional disorders.
This event is part of our ongoing commitment to advancing the understanding and practice of mental health, offering attendees valuable insights into the latest research and developments in the field.
