The Air Between Us er loftfimleikaverk flutt utandyra af tveimur dönsurum sem kanna sameiginlegan snertipunkt tveggja ólíkra einstaklinga og hvernig lifa má í jafnvægi við umhverfi okkar og aðra þrátt fyrir ólíkan bakgrunn og lífsreynslu. Þetta einstaka, heillandi verk er drifið áfram af forvitni og leikgleði.Höfundurinn Chloe Loftus er margverðlaunaður dansari og danshöfundur frá Nýja-Sjálandi. Hún flytur verkið ásamt belgíska dansaranum Florent Devlesaver sem hefur skapað sér sérstöðu í evrópsku samtímadanssenunni. Í loftinu breytist hjólastóll Florents í sameiginlegt svið, snertiflöt sem þau nota til að fljúga, snúast hvort um annað og dansa hátt fyrir ofan áhorfendur, líkt og í þyngdarleysi. Í verkinu er notast við sérútbúið jafnvægiskerfi hannað af Greg Kolbe, fyrrum meðlimi Cirque de Soleil.
Leikhópurinn Chloe Loftus Dance starfar í Aotearoa á Nýja-Sjálandi og hefur í tvo áratugi framleitt rómaðar sýningar sem fara víða. Hópurinn sérhæfir sig í útisýningum sem byggja á loftfimleikum og samtímadansi og leggur sérstaka áherslu á samfélagslega þátttöku og aðgengi.

The Air Between Us is both intimate and spectacular, created by acclaimed New Zealand dancer and choreographer Chloe Loftus, performed alongside Belgian dance artist Florent Devlesaver. Arriving at this point in time from diverse backgrounds and experiences, this unique aerial dance explores our innate capacity to exist in symbiotic harmony, with each other and with our environment.
