The 5th Converging on Cancer @Tufts Symposium:
Bridging Research and Care
April 7, 2026
Converging on Cancer @ Tufts brings together leaders from science, medicine, and industry to advance cancer research by sharing ideas and fostering collaboration that accelerate the path to new therapies. Since its launch in 2016, the symposium has grown into a signature Tufts event, drawing more than 200 participants from biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, academic medicine, and across Tufts University.
Grounded in Tufts’ strengths across discovery science and clinical investigation, the symposium spotlights work that pushes from mechanism to medicine—advancing new approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
The 2026 program centers on three converging areas shaping the future of cancer research:
- Viruses and Cancer — New insights into viral oncogenesis and immune interactions, alongside emerging vaccine, antiviral, and virus-based therapeutic approaches.
- Innovations in Breast and Prostate Cancer Research — Advances in precision diagnostics, targeted therapies, and personalized treatment strategies improving patient outcomes.
- Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention — Translational research connecting laboratory discovery with clinical application to strengthen cancer care and population health.
Open to the broader biomedical and clinical research community, the program features Tufts University researchers, highlighting the depth and range of Tufts’ cancer science and its role in advancing work from discovery to care.
