THE 48 INFO-SESSION & MIXER @ UWINNIPEG On Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, the 48 Film Festival will host its 11th annual info-session and mixer at the UWinnipeg Asper Centre For Theatre and Film, 400 Colony St, in Winnipeg. This will be a two-part event: =======================
PART 1 INFO-SESSION ASPER THEATRE (from 6pm to 7:30pm): The 48 Film Festival (Manitoba) will host an industry info-session/Q&A specifically for all team leaders and teammates, so please come at least 15 minutes early. This is the one place where you will find out the NEW details, rules and expectations surrounding our 2026 Film Challenge. If you have a conflict please contact [email protected]

PART 2 MIXER ASPER THEATRE FLOOR TAKEOVER (from 7:30pm to 9:30pm): The 48 Film Festival (Manitoba) will conclude with a mixer and team builder, featuring snacks and beverages at the UWinnipeg Asper Centre For Theatre and Film, 400 Colony St.

ACTRA, CITY OF WINNIPEG & MORE...
(from 6pm to 7pm) ACTRA Manitoba and The City of Winnipeg will be present to inform you how to utilize ACTRA (union actors) using a free permit, where you can or can't shoot and MORE!!!

EQUIPMENT, COMPUTER LAB AND STUDIO RENTALS
(from 6pm to 7pm) You will be able to book WFG equipment and use the studio and computer lab. This is an exclusive first come first serve opportunity that you will only get at this event. If you need any of these items or support for your film this is the place to do it.

ACTORS, FILMMAKERS & MUSICIANS
(from 7:30pm to 9:30pm) For those of you still building your teams you will have access to add and collect local musicians/composers and other filmmakers. Additionally you are permitted to work with local ACTRA union actors. We anticipate that there will be approximately 150+ people attending so please come out, mix and make connections.

WE WILL FEED & QUENCH YOUR THIRST from 7:30pm to 9:30pm There will be nom nom treats and beverages.
