The 3 Lakes Bicycles Expedition – Naivasha.
This is a 2 day and 1-night bicycle adventure in Naivasha; a scenic and educative adventure; 60 km of cycling and exploring the great landscapes in one of Kenya’s most touristic destinations; a pedaling tour of the shores of Lake Naivasha, camping on the shores of Lake Oloiden and a bike and hiking adventure at the Crater Lake Sanctuary, and finally, a farm experience at Ecoscapes Sanctuary, located in the west of Lake Naivasha far away from the greenhouse farms.
Day One
3 amazing stages of cycling; we take Moi South Road and go into Hell’s Gate National Park, a 15km downhill tour of Hell’s Gate, followed by a hiking and walking excursion, exploring Ol Njorowa Gorges. After a sumptuous picnic lunch, we head to the Olkaria KenGen geothermal spa for an experience of the steam heated swimming pool. Just before sunset, we head down cycling 12km (optional) to Oloiden Flamingo campsite for dinner, bonfire and accommodation.
Day Two
A morning 5 km cycling trip to the Crater Lake for an excursion; a green soda lake at the bottom of an extinct volcano, a gem of tranquility, a place that is a peaceful and beautiful sanctuary where we will walk, relax, watch wildlife and have a picnic bush breakfast. Crater Lake Sanctuary is a small private sanctuary centered around a small saline-alkaline lake.
Between noon and 1 o’clock, we exit Crater Lake Sanctuary for the last 5 km ride to Ecoscapes Sanctuary, a family owned organic market garden on the west shore of Lake Naivasha; lunch and a farm tour before packing up and beginning the road trip back to Nairobi, to end the trip at dusk.
