Goal Statement
The goal of the Summit for Black Women in Student Affairs is to create space for professional development, fellowship, and networking opportunities for senior, mid-level, intermediate, and new professional Black women in higher education, with an emphasis on student affairs. Through a virtual interactive format, participants will explore best practices to develop a personal career plan, while connecting with fellow colleagues. They will acquire and hone tools to strengthen their personal brands by focusing on professional competencies. Finally, participants will develop broad professional knowledge, and skills expected of higher education professionals navigating their personal and professional career trajectories.

The Symposium for Black Women in Higher Education Description & Format
The format of the Summit for Black Women in Higher Education will feature several segments as part of an interactive virtual experience. This structure will provide professionals the opportunity to grow competency areas around skill sets needed for professional growth. Through engaging dialogue based on the competencies, individual practitioners will be able to participate in areas that help guide their development needs around the various opportunities that are afforded to them. The Summit will provide participants with an assessment of their goals and a personal professional plan for their careers.

The Summit for Black Women in Student Affairs is intended for but not limited to those professionals serving in professional student-serving positions.
Program Diversity Statement
The Summit for Women in Student Affairs is committed to offering the best possible experience for Black and African American women. We have worked diligently to bring you a diversity of topics that represent issues that face black women professionals in higher education around issues of, gender, equity, and inclusion and are knowledgeable about higher education in general. This philosophy is represented in each professional facilitator, speaker, and presenter.
Registration Information
