About this Event
Expanding beyond the book club and our online literary platform, Thawra is always looking for new ways to spotlight people of colour and their work. This month we will be taking a trip to the National Portrait Gallery to check out "The Time is Always Now: Artists Reframe The Black Figure".
The exhibition has been curated to showcase contemporary artists from the African diaspora, examining the richness and complexity of Black life as well as its absense in Western art and the story of representation.
Please note that the ticket includes admission to the exhibition and 50% of the ticket value will be donated to the Black Cultural Archive.
