About this Event
The Vietnam War ended on April 30, 1975, and 50 years later, DVAN and the SF Public Library are commemorating this important anniversary by hosting the traveling exhibition, Textures of Remembrance: Vietnamese Artists and Writers Reflect on the Vietnamese Diaspora.
This will be the last stop of this traveling exhibition, which has amplified the work of 25 Vietnamese artists and writers at 8 venues since January 2022. We invite you to this showcase of art made within, and for, the Vietnamese diasporic community to humanize the refugee experience from the inside out.

This exhibition will be on view at the Skylight Gallery on the 6th Floor of SFPL Main Library from November 14, 2025 - January 8, 2026.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
is a traveling exhibit that shares works made within and for the Vietnamese diasporic community, and by emerging writers and artists, to humanize the Vietnamese diasporic/refugee experience from the inside-out.
The project aims to present a humanities-driven exploration of the impact of the Vietnam War, collect and share stories in the diasporic Vietnamese community to foster healing and connection, build intergenerational and cross-cultural understanding, and counter stereotypes of and racism towards Vietnamese Americans and refugees.
