About this Event
Zero Waste Scotland has been engaging with the textiles sector in Scotland to better understand the flows, markets, opportunities and barriers relating to helping Scotland’s textiles sector and textiles use be more circular.
There have been several research activities undertaken for textiles including stakeholder workshops on an interim report earlier this year and consumer behaviour studies. All culminating in the publication of Product Stewardship considerations for textiles in Scotland.
To mark this publication Zero Waste Scotland invites you to a seminar that focuses on Product Stewardship considerations for textiles in Scotland. The event will focus on the findings from the report detailing key interventions and insights that will help shape product stewardship measures for circular textiles in Scotland.
The event will bring together the textiles sector, businesses and policymakers – including the Scottish Government’s Circular Economy Division - to recognise the work already being undertaken across Scotland and to support further action.
Product stewardship is an approach that means whoever designs, produces, sells or uses a product takes responsibility for minimising its environmental impact throughout all stages of that product’s life cycle. It is an umbrella term and includes the responsibilities of each actor in the supply chain to minimise waste, maximise reuse, recycle where products genuinely meet the end of their life, and dispose of products responsibly.
