Join TEMP in celebrating the incredible diversity of Italian Renaissance music! It's a concert of "firsts" with music by Maddalena Casulana, the first woman composer to have an entire book of music published; Vicente Lusitano, the first published Black composer; and Salomone Rossi, a Jewish Violinist and composer who was a transitional figure between the late Renaissance and the early Baroque and who we're featuring in a major way for the first time on a TEMP concert! You'll also hear favorites from Monteverdi, Verdelot, and excerpts from La Pellegrina, the 1589 extravaganza created for an important Medici wedding. We're ending our 24-25 Street Songs season with a bang! Join us!Included with your ticket: a special pre-concert lecture given by KMFA host Sara Schneider called "Amor, Fortuna: A celebration of music, love, and Renaissance humanism in honor of Francesco Petrarca". Join us 45 minutes before the start of each concert for this exciting talk!
