Welcome to certified Telehandler J3 Novice - 5 days training event! Join us at Verda Park on March 30th - 3rd April 2026 at 08:00 AM GMT for an exciting 5-day course. The Novice Operator Course provides a comprehensive introduction to plant operation - guiding learners from basic machine control and steering through progressive load-handling and racking tasks, along with essential safety and maintenance practices, before completing final theory and practical assessments.
The course will cover:
Day 1:
- Registration, course overview, statutory requirements (HASAWA)
- Machine introduction: motive/steering controls, starting & stopping, emergency stops
- Basic and advanced steering exercises (open-area course)
- Battery charging procedures
Day 2:
- Recap and operator safety code
- Engineering principles: rated capacity, stability, simple hydraulics, load types
Day 3:
- Recap and daily pre-use checks
- Bulk stacking/de-stacking, empty pallets, load assessment
- Low-level racking stacking/de-stacking and manoeuvring with loads
Day 4:
- Recap; battery maintenance and refuelling
- Medium/high-level racking stacking/de-stacking
- Corner stacking/de-stacking, load location, vehicle loading/unloading
Day 5:
- Recap and handling awkward loads
- General supervised practice
- Knowledge test, pre-use check exam, and practical basic skills tests
Please note this is a 5 day course and you must attend every day of the training to receive the certification.
