About this Event
After over 50 youth poets competed in 2 preliminary bout, a semi finals competition, the top 10 poets from all 3 bouts come to share their incredible original poetry in this night of performance and friendly competition. The top 6 scoring poets will receive a cash prize as well as the opportunity to be on the 2025 Bay Brave New Voices Team, a group of young poets who will write, rehearse, and travel together to compete at the 2025 Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam Festival!
Being a part of the Brave New Voices team is a unique opporutnity for young writers to build with other writers and sharpen your skills! Through twice a week advanced writing workshops, group poem writing and performance training, virtual workshops with writers across the globe, and the team travel trip to BNV 2025, the 6 young poets who represent the Bay Area on the 2025 BNV Team, will emobody what what youth voice in the Bay has to offer the poetry community of the world.
