About this Event
The Irish Immigration Pastoral Center is excited to announce an upcoming Teen Mental Health First Aid Training.
Adolescence is a time of incredible growth, but it’s also when mental health challenges often emerge. These can affect relationships, academics, and more. This course teaches teens in grades 9-12 (ages 14-18) how to provide support for their peers as well as better cope with mental health challenges themselves
The curriculum was developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
The course will cover:
- How to open the conversation about mental health and substance use challenges.
- Common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.
- The impact of school violence and bullying on mental wellbeing.
- How to seek the help of a responsible and trusted adult.
