About this Event
Following a successful pilot last year Fernee Forest Club is running another series of inclusive forest school sessions for young women aged 12-17 (trans and non-binary peeps welcome) at Bevendean Community Garden and Woods.
These sessions will give you the chance to try new things, explore together, develop your skills, get creative and meet new people.
Led by Tess Agnew – a Level 3 Forest School Leader, Mountain Bike Trail Leader, This Girl Can Sussex Ambassador and champion of outdoor adventures for women and girls – and Sara Fernee and Almu Calvo-Garci, also Level 3 Forest School Leaders.
Dates: Fridays starting 8 May, 4-6:30pm: 🗓️

We encourage you to book onto all six sessions in the series to get the most out of it as activities will be planned in response to the interests and needs of participants as we progress.
What we’ll be doing: 🌲 🔥
- Exploring local woods and Bevendean Community Garden
- Connecting with each other and the natural surrounding
- Bushcraft - fire lighting, shelters and need-to-know knots
- Building dens
- Campfire cooking
- Woodland and nature crafts
- Mindful nature connection activities
- Pond dipping
- Chilling in hammocks!
- Making obstacle courses, rope swings and walkways
- Having fun on the slackline!
- Fun games and outdoor adventures
- And lots more!
There is running water and two private compost toilets on site.

It's important to us that our sessions are accessible.
Choose what you can afford - we use scaled pricing and seek funding to make sure cost isn't a barrier.
£18, £10 or £5* per session - paid before sessions start and bookable as series of 6 or in 2 batches of 3 sessions.
