Ginga FlashMob 2024“Ginga” (noun) - Portuguese ~ English – sway, swing
Kizomba & Semba Malaysia is proud to bring to you, one of the biggest global dance initiatives, the 6th GINGA FLASHMOB 2024 by World Kizomba Project.
THE MISSION of the GINGA FLASHMOB is to celebrate and express the beauty and power of women, our amazing ladies from all over the world, our queens, and our sisters. This year, we are inviting the amazing gentlemen to join us in this initiative. We aim to unite the whole world with a love for Kizomba, where over 80 cities will be participating, with over 1000 participants.
In line with the International Women's Day campaign theme, on the 8 March 2024 (IWD 2024), “INSPIRE INCLUSION” we are inviting females and males to join us in this global initiative for a good cause.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for females & males, with or without dance experience for a FLASHMOB PERFORMANCE on Saturday, 9 March 2024 in KUALA LUMPUR.
Our final edited video will be posted on social media such as the YouTube Channel, Facebook Page & Instagram of the World Kizomba Project together with videos of participants from all over the world.

TEACHERS & PARTICIPANTS:

• Classes will be taught by Cherie Thum
• Inter-state participants are welcome to join us too if you can make it for the video shoot on Saturday 9 March in KUALA LUMPUR. Online training will be provided. It’s preferred that you be present for the FULL DRESS rehearsal on Wednesday 6 March 2024.
• As Participants, your commitment is to promise to practice (with the team as scheduled below as well as to practice on your own after we have guided you)

• VENUE FOR PRACTICE: TBA (5km to 9km radius from Bangsar)
ON THE DAY OF THE VIDEO SHOOT:

• Venue for the video shoot on 9 March: CuBar, 4, Jalan Telawi, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.
• Time: 12:30pm for about 1-2 hours & staying for a late lunch
COSTUME:

Costs of costume to be borne by the respective participants who wish to perform on the day of the video shoot for the FlashMob. (do set aside a budget of RM100 to RM150 for costumes)

HOW TO REGISTER?
• WhatsApp +60 (12) 2081798 (Cherie Thum) with your full name & email address, and you will be given further information to complete your registration.
• Thereafter, we will add you to a Group Chat. In the Group, you will get updates as well as videos of the choreography of the practice sessions.

ABOUT THE CHOREOGRAPHY:
The first four parts of the choreography is curated by 4 dance instructors, Paula Loureiro, Hannah Melder, Christina Chrysanthou, Romarey Sp.
The 5th part will be choreographed by your local instructor, Cherie Thum.

FEES STRUCTURE (Non-Refundable):
- RM335 per participant
Fees breakdown:
- RM55: one-off participation fee. This proceed goes to support a charity, Teachers of the Flashmob and the World Kizomba Project, and;
- RM280: Project Management Fees (for expenses & incidentals wrt practice & video shoot & video editing)
