About this Event
This workshop will provide a range of resources and example learning activities that you can include in your teaching to enable students to explore and reflect on own and others' perceptions and values associated with different sustainability issues and problems. Self-awareness (recognising how your emotions, motivations and personality impact on your actions and behaviours) and normative (understanding and reflecting on the norms and values that underpin your own actions and those of other stakeholders) competencies are an import component of the sustainability competencies and the Inner Development Goals.
This topic can support student’s awareness of the complexity of sustainability issues, foster a learning environment that is respectful of diverse perspectives, and reflect on values that are important to their career development and personal lives.
The workshop is particularly suited to staff that currently don’t include this topic in their teaching and would like an opportunity to discuss and explore possibilities relevant to their subject areas. Staff who have an expertise on this topic are also very welcome to join in and share any resources or insights that they think will support other subject areas.
Part of a series of Education for Sustainable Development workshops and events developed by CIE – each workshop will be recorded and periodically repeated. Staff support for Education for Sustainable Development at Liverpool will give you access to all ESD support resources.
