Utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for the Treatment of Eating Disorders
Dialectical Behavior Therapy, DBT, a 3rd-Wave cognitive behavioral therapy is evidence-based for the treatment of eating disorders. DBT is highly effective for the binge eating disorders and modifications for the restrictive eating disorders will be demonstrated.
This presentation will present an advanced training of DBT, highlighting the modifications for treatment of the eating disorders. This presentation will provide clinicians with DBT knowledge, tools and skills that they can flexibly integrate into their treatment of clients with eating disorders.
Objectives of this presentation:
Participants will learn the modifications of DBT for treatment of eating disorders and multi-family group.
Participants will learn the diary card tool and BCA behavior chain analysis tool and how to implement these tools in the treatment of eating disorders.
Participants will learn how each of the 4 DBT skills have been modified for eating disorder treatment.
