TBI 404 SESSION IS VALUABLE FOR ANYONE WORKING IN THE SCHOOLS OR WITH YOUR: Counselors, general education teachers, SPED teachers, Transition Specialists in the schools, related service personnel, administrators, behavioral health, school psychologists, secure care (DOC) educators, support staff, and parents/caregivers.
This workshop will include advanced information on acquired brain injuries and how to utilize an understanding of neurodevelopment AND brain-behavior relationships in order to identify and effectively impact students in the classroom and in the community. The focus will be on assessments to identify assets/deficits, appropriate academic strategies targeting executive skills, and the role of problem-solving in academic coursework, STEM fields, and transition. The adult education format will be lecture, dialogue, and small/large group discussions, and includes a case study of a student with mTBI. Implications for both 504 and IDEA will be addressed as they impact transition services and the ADA.
All materials are provided for this course including PPT handouts, activity sheets and resources.
A total of 4 contact hours for professional development/continuing education units.
IMPORTANT: This virtual training has been split into TWO days and each day is 2 hours. You will need to attend both days of training to get a spot for this course.
P ease note this virtual training has a focus on the Arizona educational system due to the funding source.
