About this Event
Taynne’s Fundraiser in support of The BC Schizophrenia Society
On June 13th I will be hosting a fundraising event in support of the BC Schizophrenia Society at John Hendry Park (Trout Lake) from 12pm-4pm.
We acknowledge that this event takes place on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
About the fundraiser:
- All proceeds from the event will go towards the BC Schizophrenia Society
- Proceeds from the gofundme will go towards both making the event happen and the BC Schizophrenia Society (expenses = $306.60 for the permit and aprox. $200 for liability insurance)
- All proceeds from the CanadaHelps will go to the BC Schizophrenia Society
About the event:
- There will be an online silent auction launched on June 13th
- There will be rentable board games for 5$
- The event is family friendly
- We will be located at the Gazebo near the beach
- I will update this as I think of more ways to raise money lol
~*~My Story~*~
I was diagnosed with major depression with psychosis roughly three years ago, and have gone through 1 hospitalization, too many Medic*tion combinations to count, and rTMS treatment that luckily resulted in full remissions. The past three years have been filled with many trials and tribulations, but ultimately I am alive, I am myself, and I am eager to give back to the community that supported me on my path to a healthy and happy life.
What to bring to the event:
- Cash/credit/debit for boardgame rentals etc.
- A blanket or chairs for sitting on
- Water
- Sunscreen/ Sun protection
- A good attitude and open mind
- Snacks?!
