About this Event
Join Us for A Canada-Costa Rica Conservation Connection!
Join us for an inspiring community fundraiser and presentation featuring Lilly Briggs, Founder & Director of Finca Cántaros Environmental Association and author of the recently published children’s book, Lucy Loves Nature: The Search for the Mysterious Potoo.
This special event will provide attendees with a virtual tour of the work of Finca Cántaros Environmental Association (FCEA), a Canadian-Costa Rican nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental education and forest restoration in the southwest region of Costa Rica.
The presentation will also highlight how conservation efforts at Finca Cántaros have impacts that transcend political boundaries. Many of the birds we enjoy here in Canada rely on protected overwintering habitat in Costa Rica — habitat that Finca Cántaros is actively working to create, restore, and conserve.
Attendees will also hear about Lilly Briggs’ children’s book, Lucy Loves Nature: The Search for the Mysterious Potoo, a story inspired by nature, environmental stewardship, and the remarkable biodiversity of Costa Rica.
💚 Donations are warmly welcomed. All proceeds will support Finca Cántaros Environmental Association’s work in:
- Environmental education
- Forest restoration
- Bird conservation
- Gender equity initiatives
We hope you will join us for an afternoon of learning, community, conservation, and inspiration. Light refreshments will be served before and after the talk.
