A cookery session with a difference!
A chef-led demonstration with the opportunity for participants to get hands-on. Using leftover stale bread (which usually gets thrown in the bin) and store cupboard items to create a nutritious, affordable meal.

Learning outcomes:

Participants will know how to turn stale bread into nutritious dishes that are cost-effective and reduce waste, especially relevant these days with the new food waste bins provided by the council!

Meet your workshop leader:
John Day
My name is John Day, Hastings born and bred! I am a professional chef and College lecturer. I have been teaching cookery and food-related classes for the last 27 years in all types of venues and settings, including schools, colleges, community centres, children’s centres [Sure Start] and even a hospital. I have run many courses like this previously for organisations, including HVA, Fellowship of St. Nicolas, Southern Housing, YMCA Hastings, YMCA Brighton, Salvation Army Eastbourne and Warming up the homeless.
